For the second year in a row, all students enrolled in tutoring at Academic Center of Tampa have passed the FCAT (Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test). "We are simply ecstatic with these results. Our teaching staff has done a miraculous job," said Executive Director, Edna I. Juan. Academic Center does work with both private and public school students from kindergarten through adult. The Center employs certified teachers who are degreed and experienced. When asked what makes Academic Center so unique in its 100%success with students passing FCAT, Edna responded, "It truly is the one-on-one teaching that we offer combined with the personalized education plan. It is a lot of work, but the smiles on each of the student's faces is well worth it!" Each student receives a comprehensive academic plan based on an initial evaluation and classroom teacher feedback. Director of Education expert, Linda Machlus, M. Ed, updates each student's academic plan on a daily basis. (FCAT results for 100% success include all but one student who was simultaneously diagnosed with several learning disabilities at the time of the FCAT test, thus he is not included in these numbers.) Each tutoring session is guaranteed. Edna estimates that over 200 students have been enrolled in tutoring this academic school year.
